Double Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (250 g)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50 g)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (110 g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (120 mL)
- 1 cup whole milk (240 mL)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (255 g), divided
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, then fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin liners.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips generously over the tops of the muffins.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm.
