Garlic Parmesan Knots

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (7 g)
  • 1 cup warm water (240 mL)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (25 g)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (300 g)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (30 mL)
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes (225 g)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)

Garlic Butter

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (85 g)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Divide dough into 12 pieces.
  5. Flatten each piece, place a mozzarella cube inside, and seal completely.
  6. Roll into ropes and tie each into a knot.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and let rest 15 minutes.
  8. Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt.
  10. Toss hot knots in the garlic butter.
  11. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
  12. Serve warm.
